Getting there

The first meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention on Mercury (COP1), from 24 to 29 September 2017, will be held at the International Conference Centre, Rue de Varembé 17, 1211 Geneva, Switzerland www.cicg.ch.

The Conference Centre is about 5 km away from the Geneva Cointrin international airport and 2 km away from the Cornavin main railway station, both accessible by public transport (tramway and bus).

Bus number 10 links the airport with downtown Geneva, with frequent connections, and train services from the airport are also available. The Unireso ticket, offered by the Geneva airport authority, allows the free use of public transport in the city for a period of 80 minutes. Unireso tickets can be obtained from the machine in the baggage collection area on the arrivals level of the airport. Many hotels give their residents a Unireso pass to use during their stay.

The Conference Centre can be reached from the main railway station by taking bus number 5 (Vermont or Varembé stops), bus number 8 (UIT stop) or tram number 15 in the direction of Nations (Sismondi or Nations stops). It can be reached from the Geneva airport by taking bus number 5 (Vermont stop) or 28 (Nations stop).
